Healing ADD Revised Edition: The Breakthrough Program that Allows You to See and Heal the 7 Types of ADD

Attention deficit disorder (ADD) is a national health crisis that continues to grow—yet it remains one of the most misunderstood and incorrectly treated illnesses today. Neuropsychiatrist Daniel G. Amen, MD was one of the first to identify that there are multiple types beyond just purely hyperactive or inattentive ADD, each requiring a different treatment. Now, in this all-new, revised edition, Dr. Amen again employs the latest medical advances in the field, including the largest brain imaging study ever completed on patients with ADD, to identify, examine, and demystify the 7 distinct types of ADD and their specific treatments.

With updated recommendations for nutraceuticals and/or medications targeted to brain type, diet, exercise, lifestyle interventions, cognitive reprogramming, parenting and educational strategies, neurofeedback, and more, Dr. Amen’s revolutionary approach provides a treatment program that can lead sufferers of ADD to a normal, peaceful, and fully functional life.

Sufferers from ADD often say, “The harder I try, the worse it gets.” Dr. Amen tells them, for the first time, why, and more importantly how to heal ADD.

Reviews

Don't take it from us! Listen to these happy customers.

Both my daughter and I live in Canada and have not been able to get a brain scan. However our symptoms definitely indicate that we both have ADD. It is a relief to know that there is a solution.

This book is very very good. Finally a book that gives hope.

Amazing

Each time I pick this book up I gain more understanding and am thankful. For the first time I feel understood and have hope!

really helpful book

Little did I know that my scattered thoughts and disorganized things were all down to something more than just being 'creative.' This has been a really helpful book!

Who knew???

For years I have been struggling with what I thought was "normal stress and disorganization", resigned that life was just harder for some (me) than others. I'm still absorbing this book and all it has to offer but I already feel more hope than I have in years. I see myself and not only do I not feel alone, but there are things I can do to help myself. I have hope :)

The best book/program on ADD!

This book (and the rest of the program materials) has helped me understand and improve my ADD symptoms and actions. It gives clear explanations about the different types of ADD (Which is really important) and how to address each type. I highly recommend for anyone who has ADD or has children or students with ADD.

Use as educational information in therapy

I am a psychotherapist in private practice and keep 10-20 copies in my office and give to patients fitting the diagnostic criteria of ADD. I use this as a teaching tool because most patients do not have a clue as to how the brain affects behavior. I used the original book for years and am delighted with the updated version. I have studied with Dr Amen off and on since 2001 and appreciate his unique information and outlook on mental health.
